EDMONTON -- A 3-year-old boy is dead after a house fire on a rural property in the Acheson area, south of Highway 16 Sunday evening.
The call came in around 6 p.m. and Parkland Fire crews and police responded.
A search of the home and nearby property was done while crews were still battling the blaze when the boy was found and first aid was given, however the child died on scene.
All other occupants of the home were accounted for and were not injured.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends who lost a loved one tonight. It’s certainly hard on all our crews and we recognize the loss for that family,” said Parkland County Fire Chief Brian Cornforth.
