Two people were arrested after the RCMP seized several weapons from a residence in Hobbema.

On Wednesday, Hobbema RCMP executed two search warrants at two residences on the Ermineskin First Nation near Hobbema.

The first search resulted in the seizure of a police scanner and cellphone. A female suspect was arrested for breaching a conditional sentence order.

The search of the second residence resulted in officer seizing seven handguns, 11 rifles, six shotguns, two pellet guns, a defensive baton, a large amount of assorted ammunition, and a large collection of knives, a police scanner, small amount of marijuana and a small amount of cash. A total of 26 firearms were also seized from a bedroom in the home.

Officers found that a number of the firearms were unregistered and at least one was reported stolen.

Wayne Roan, 65, of Ermineskin First Nation has been charged with 26 weapon and drug related offences.

Roan has been released and is scheduled to appear in court on August 3rd.
