Edmonton police are investigating three separate stabbings that resulted in two deaths overnight.

Officers were called to a convenience store, near 107 Avenue and 104 Street, around 6:30 p.m. They said witnesses told them two men got into a fight and one was stabbed.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for early Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the suspect ran from the scene – however, on Wednesday morning police said a suspect in that case had been taken into custody, although no charges had been laid.

Hours later, another man died after an alleged fight escalated on the south side early Wednesday morning.

Police responded, just before 3 a.m., to a hotel near Calgary Trail and 45 Avenue. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from stab wounds in the parking lot.

Investigators said the 26-year-old male victim was stabbed following an apparent altercation at a nearby nightclub.

In that case, police said the suspect fled the scene in a white Ford F-150 truck.

An autopsy in that case had been scheduled for Thursday morning.

A short time after that, police were called to another stabbing incident downtown around 3:00 a.m.

Officers say they found a man, the area of 109 Avenue and 97 Street, suffering from a single stab wound.

The victim is reportedly not cooperating with police. There's no update on a possible suspect in that case.
