Following a late-night search, RCMP west of Edmonton have arrested and charged two men in connection to a home invasion and stabbing Tuesday night.
Police received reports of a male in Stony Plain with a concealed handgun just after 8 p.m. Tuesday, and as they searched for that suspect – they were called to an assault.
When they arrived at the scene in Stony Plain, they found a man who had been stabbed twice.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers interviewed several people, and the police dog unit assisted in tracking down two suspects – who were arrested and charged.
RCMP arrested 20-year-old Wayne Brown, and 18-year old Dylan Janzen, both of Stony Plain.
Brown and Janzen are each facing several charges, including robbery with a firearm, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and break and enter.
Both are in custody, and will appear in Stony Plain Provincial Court on January 4.
The victim is still in hospital in stable condition.
