Two men are now facing nine charges after gunfire broke out at a downtown nightclub early Sunday.

Edmonton police received reports of shots being fired near the Bank Ultra Lounge near 108 Street and Jasper just after 1 a.m.

Officers and paramedics arrived to find one person suffering from a gunshot wound. And just as the first victim was being rushed to hospital, police discovered a second victim.

After speaking to several witnesses police gathered information indicating there was a suspect vehicle in the area. Officers managed to track down the vehicle a short distance away.

Acting Insp. Anderson with Edmonton police told CTV News two individuals were taken into custody for questioning.

Harshandeep Maan, 22, and Kamaljeet Gill, 27, are now facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons-related offences.

A 19-year-old man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second victim received treatment in hospital.
