A 19-year-old man has been charged with the second degree murder of his father, this after a body was found at a Whitecourt home Friday afternoon.

RCMP have identified the victim as 46-year-old Ronald Greschuk of Whitecourt. He was found dead at a home in the northern Alberta community Friday afternoon.

The victim's son, 19-year-old Tyler John Greschuk, has now been charged with second degree murder and offering an indignity to a body.

He is in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Whitecourt Provincial Court on September, 8.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday.
