The City of Edmonton has expanded its free Wi-Fi service to include all platforms on the Capital LRT line, as part of its plan to become a "connected city".

"We promised that all stations along the Capital Line would be Wi-Fi ready by the end of the year. Open City Wi-Fi allows our customers to stay connected and be productive while using the LRT,” said Musse Dese, ETS Acting Director of Customer Service & Innovation in a press release.

Wi-Fi was first made available at Southgate Station earlier this year. Since then, the city has been working to expand the service to other parts of the system.

The city says it plans to extend the network to stations along the Metro LRT line in 2016.

Open City Wi-Fi is now available at 82 locations in the Edmonton-area. An interactive map can be found here
