The charges laid against a woman after a number of people in the Edmonton area were defrauded by someone who said they were selling doughnuts to help with flood relief efforts in southern Alberta were stayed.

Police believed the woman was behind a number of Krispy Kreme sales in businesses across the Edmonton area in support of flood relief.

She was charged with four counts of fraud in July 2013 but the charges were stayed in February 2014, court records show.
