RCMP in St. Albert confirmed Tuesday afternoon that charges had been laid in connection to the death of a 75-year-old man, who had been reported missing over the weekend.

On Sunday, July 9, family members of Ronald Worsfold, 75, reported him missing to police – after he was out of contact with family since July 7.

Also on Sunday, police found a body in a rural area of Parkland County near Stony Plain, it was believed to be the body of the missing man.

An autopsy was completed Tuesday by the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton, it confirmed the body was Worsfold, and the manner of his death was homicide.

As a result, RCMP said Beryl Musila, 28, from St. Albert had been arrested and charged with first degree murder and indignity to human remains. She’s expected to appear in court July 12.

Investigators also confirmed Worsfold’s stolen vehicle, reported stolen five days before his disappearance, was not connected to his death or disappearance.
