Woman hospitalized after being hit by vehicle on Whyte Avenue

A pedestrian was taken to hospital Monday morning after she was hit by a vehicle while in a crosswalk on Whyte Avenue.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. at 99 Street, according to Fire Station #6 Capt. Sean McCarten.

Edmonton Police Service described the woman's injuries as serious but not life threatening. 

Edmonton police set up pylons at 82 Avenue and 99 Street, as well as around a parked van with its hazards on, on March 20, 2023, after a pedestrian was struck in a crosswalk.

The driver was not injured, McCarten said.

EPS' major collisions unit is investigating.
