The heat extends across most of Alberta with Jasper expected to be one of the hotspots (forecast high of 35).
However, the north will be a bit cooler with a chance of thunderstorms.
Grande Prairie will be sunny & 30 and Peace River should get to 27 or 28.
But, from Peace River north to High Level...we have some showers this morning.
High Level wil likely only get to 17 or 18 later today.
As that system slides east, the potential for severe thunderstorms exists in the Slave Lake region this afternoon.
By this early this evening, the risk of showers & thunderstorms pushes into NE Alberta & areas from Bonnyville north to Fort Chipewyan have a chance at getting some rain.
Late this evening, there's a chance of a small area of showers/thunderstorms expected to slide through areas just south of Edmonton.
Pigeon Lake/Rimbey, Wetaskiwin/Camrose & the Red Deer area all have a decent chance at getting a late-night thunderstorm.
Friday will be an interesting day/night to watch.
Most of the severe weather parameters are awfully high around Edmonton Friday night.

If we get some storm development to the west of the city, those storms should intensify as they approach the Capital Region.
