A pair of travelling enthusiasts from Brazil made a stop in Edmonton this weekend, partway through their second trip around the world.

In 2007, Michelle Weiss and Roy Rudnick quit their jobs and set out from their home in Brazil on a three-year journey around the world.

“It's not an easy decision to get rid of everything to leave family and say I'm going around the world,” said Weiss.

Their first adventure took them to five continents and 60 countries, testing their relationship and opening their eyes.

Much of the couple’s time is spent in a few square feet of space.

“Our house is very small. It's inside this car but our garden is very large,” said Rudnick. “It is the whole world and it changes. Sometimes we have beaches, mountains, and deserts.”

Along the way, they shared their adventures on a blog and eventually wrote a book, which helped pay for their adventures.

“For us it was a pleasure to see all these things and share with so many people. Many they don't have the opportunity to go to these places,” said Weiss.

They are one year in to their second trip around the world and after Edmonton they'll make their way to Russia.

“We look for different things and challenges. It will be nice to learn how to live in winter,” said Rudnick.
