RCMP say a person found dead in a rural area Saturday evening near Ranfurly, AB died as a result of a homicide.
CTV News has learned a passerby driving on Range Road 121 northeast of Ranfurly, approximately 137 kilometres east of Edmonton, noticed an empty pickup truck parked by the side of the road with the engine running.
Upon investigation, the individual discovered a lifeless body lying in the ditch and immediately contacted RCMP.
The name of the deceased, cause and manner of death are not being released at this time.
