Edmonton police confirmed Wednesday that the car owned by a woman reported missing over the weekend, had been found in central Alberta.
Police said Tuesday that Anina Hundsdoerfer, 32, had been reported missing over the weekend, the woman and her 2005 Toyota Echo were last believed to be at her workplace Saturday, March 22.
The vehicle was found alongside Highway 734 on Tuesday afternoon by Alberta Fish and Wildlife officers.
The EPS Missing Persons Unit was contacted, and they confirmed with RCMP that the vehicle was the one owned by the missing woman.
Hundsdoerfer was reported missing Sunday, March 23 by her roommate – it’s believed her last known location was the office where she works, located near 99 Avenue and 108 Street on Saturday, March 22.
On Wednesday, Edmonton police said the search for Hundsdoerfer was still underway, as her whereabouts are still unknown – RCMP are still searching the area the vehicle was found in, in addition to the Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg areas.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen the parked car along the side of the road, given Hundsdoerfer a ride, or seen her walking in the area to come forward.
Hundsdoerfer is described as:
- Caucasian
- About 175 cm (5’9”) tall
- About 72.5 kg (160 lbs)
- Brown, shoulder-length hair
- Blue eyes
It’s believed she could have been wearing a burgundy, long winter coat, dark form-fitting pants and glasses.
