Police have laid charges in connection to a hit and run crash on Anthony Henday Drive that killed a man in his 40s who had been helping another driver.
The crash took place on Wednesday, June 13 – police were called to the scene, on the Henday near 62 Avenue at about 11:30 p.m. after a man was struck and killed by a passing vehicle.
That man was later identified as Andrew Green, 46; he had pulled over to help a driver, whose car had broken down in the southbound lanes.
The man was struck when he was placing traffic triangles on the shoulder of the freeway.
On Monday, police said 35-year-old Kieran Porter had been charged with failing to stop at the scene of a crash, resulting in death, careless driving and hit and run.
Porter has been released on a promise to appear, and has been scheduled to appear in court on January 16, 2013.
