Charges pending after reported firearm threat at Ft. Saskatchewan high school

RCMP north of Edmonton said one man was in police custody, after a threat was reportedly made Friday morning.

Fort Saskatchewan RCMP said officers received reports of a firearm threat at about 9:30 a.m. Friday at a local high school.

As a precaution, police said the school was placed on ‘hold and secure’.

That precaution was lifted about two hours later.

Police said a 22-year-old man was found off-site, and he was arrested.

Charges are pending, RCMP are still investigating.
