City of Edmonton officials released adjustments to parking restrictions put in place due to the closure of Groat Road Thursday.
Officials said Thursday that by the end of that day, three areas would revert to their previous parking conditions:
- 109 Street between 88 Avenue and 82 Avenue, and between the High Level Bridge and 104 Avenue
- 124 Street between 102 Avenue to Stony Plain Road
- 105 Street between 102 Avenue and 104 Avenue
The City said daytime, nighttime and weekend parking would be permitted on both sides of the roadway, with peak hour tow-away zones remaining in effect.
Then, by the end of the day Friday, March 20, changes would be made to parking restrictions in two other areas.
- On 124 Street, between Stony Plain Road and 107 Avenue – daytime, nighttime and weekend parking will be allowed on both sides, with no parking during morning and afternoon peak time (between 6- 9 am and 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.)
- On 124 Street between 107 Avenue to 111 Avenue on the west side will have morning and afternoon peak hour tow-away zones in effect
Meanwhile, existing parking restrictions will remain on 116 Street between 100 Avenue and Jasper Avenue, on the east side – until Groat Road re-opens no parking will be allowed on that road way.
Changes to traffic signals in the area will remain in place until Groat Road re-opens as well.
Officials also said the large support crane to support bent steel girders on the 102 Avenue Bridge over Groat Road was in place, and the team was finalizing its girder stabilization strategy.
