Showers, but not much for thunder & lightning in the Capital Region this morning.
As you can see on the radar/lightning map from 5am, the thunderstorms slipped around the city.
(if you live in Sherwood Park or East Edmonton - you might've heard a couple rumbles of thunder, but most of the Capital region was quiet this morning)

Should be just a mix of sun & cloud for most of the day in the Edmonton area.
Thunderstorms will develop in the foothills once again & we may see a few severe storms bubble up in that region.
Those storms should move SE & likely won't pose much of a threat to the Capital Region.
We'll monitor the situation through the day, but don't count on seeing any really stormy weather in the area.

All eyes are still on Friday night as the highest potential for some nasty storms.
With an upper low poised to come crashing in, that could set off some thunderstorms in the area.
That upper low will also keep us cool & unsettled through the weekend.
Instead of "hit & miss", "scattered" showers...it's looking more like a steadier rain for Saturday in much of Central & NW Alberta.
We're still several days out.  So, as we get closer to Saturday, we should be able to narrow down that rain zone.
For now: cloudy skies, highs near 20 & some showers on Saturday & Sunday morning looks likely.
