One person has been arrested following a police chase Friday night.
The incident began around 10:30 p.m. when, according to officials, police from west division spotted a vehicle going “very fast” and when they attempted to stop it the vehicle did not stop and police began to chase it.
“The vehicle went in and around west division out to the rural parts west and north of Edmonton around St. Albert and then ended up coming back into Edmonton,” Sgt. Bryan Kincheloe explained.
He said they were able to stop it, “with the assistance of Air 1 following the vehicle in the air and also with the successful deployment of a spike belt.
“After the spike belt was deployed the police were able to box in the vehicle and apprehend the driver.”
The driver was arrested south of St. Albert Trail along 156 Street.
Sgt. Kincheloe said they were no injuries however the investigation continues.
