A Lloydminster man has been charged after hundreds of thousands of dollars were embezzled from the Lloydminster Minor Hockey Association.

On Sept. 27, a complaint was made to the Lloydminster RCMP about money missing from the association.

The RCMP investigation determined that $300,000 had been taken from the association over a period of five years.

Aaron Troy Foster, 42, has been charged with fraud over $5,000, theft over $5,000, criminal breach of trust and false pretence.

He has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court in Lloydminster on Jan. 28.

The Lloydminster Minor Hockey Association lists Foster as a board member on meeting minutes from June 2018 to April 2024.

He is no longer listed as a board member on the association's website.
