EPS Homicide detectives are investigating a suspicious death after police was called to a northeast Edmonton home early Monday morning.
Northeast Division officers responded to a call for assistance at a home on 130 Avenue and 32 Street at approximately 12:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found a 53-year-old woman dead inside the home.
A neighbour told CTV News she saw a man being arrested at the scene, and a man who lives nearby said a family of three lives in the home.
"I know they keep to themselves quite a bit," Pat Gettis told CTV News. "It's a mother, father and son that live there, and I know there’s been some issues in the past with the son."
An autopsy has not been scheduled because the Medical Examiner’s Office is closed for Easter Monday.
Neighbours identified the woman who lived in the home as Kathy Dickout.
Additional information will be released later this week, EPS said.
