RCMP west of Edmonton said a joint investigation is underway, after a man in his 30s died Tuesday after an incident at a gas plant.
Hinton RCMP said they were called to a gas plant, located about 82 kilometres northeast of Hinton on Willow Creek Road Tuesday.
Police said a 32-year-old Hinton man who was working on the site as part of a pipeline crew was struck by a large piece of pipe.
STARS Air Ambulance was called to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead on site.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday, although RCMP said the circumstances of the incident are not believed to be suspicious.
Occupational Health and Safety and RCMP are carrying out a joint investigation into the incident.
