A verdict is expected today in the trial of Travis Vader, who is facing two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Lyle and Marie McCann.

Justice Thomas ruled to allow cameras in the courtroom to livestream the verdict, which will be live at 10:00 a.m.

Family members of the missing couple are anxious to hear today’s verdict.  “We are heavily invested and emotionally invested in this, so it’s very important to us that we get the right verdict,” Bret McCann said.

Six years ago, the couple left their St. Albert home to visit family in B.C., but vanished a short time later.

The bodies of the elderly couple have never been found, making this an unusual case.  Only one suspect, Travis Vader, has ever been publicly identified by police.
