The wildfire danger level in High Level continues to be extreme and the evacuation remains in place.

On Friday, the Government of Alberta announced financial help for evacuees.

Other than first responders, there are very few people in High Level. Some hotels have remained open, as well as a Tim Hortons.

"Our job, our role in all of this was to support those people that are protecting us," said Tareq Morad, the co-owner of the Best Western Plus.

About 300 firefighters are currently working to fight the fire that has grown to 100,000 in hectares.
