Edmonton police said a man found dead early Monday morning is the victim of the city’s most recent homicide.
EPS said the Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office had determined Shawn Richard, 32, died early morning as a result of a stab wound to the chest.
The investigation started after police were called to 95 Street between 117 and 118 Avenues at about 3:30 a.m. Monday – after it was reported that a man was lying in the street.
When police arrived, they found a deceased male lying on the road – and the Homicide Unit was called in to investigate.
On Tuesday, investigators said they were looking for the driver of a black pick-up truck seen in the area at about 3:20 a.m. Monday. Detectives said they believe the driver may have valuable information that could help in the investigation.
