Susan Amerongen

June 2023: Susan is no longer with the company.

Susan is an English-speaking, Edmonton-based producer with more than 30 years of news experience.

She graduated from NAIT Radio and Television Arts and before heading to Red Deer for work experience at CKRD.

Susan’s history at CTV first began in 1987; during her “first” 13 years at the station, Susan reported, anchored and produced. She left in the fall of 1999 and pursued a freelance career, working for various production companies. Over 8 years, she enjoyed working on documentaries for Discovery Channel, Life Network, TLC, History Channel and OLN.

In September 2007, Susan returned to CTV to produce a weekly feature “School Zone”; the following spring, she added reporting duties.

Susan now works full time as a story producer in the CTV Edmonton news room.

When she’s not working, Susan’s busy with her family. She and her husband have four adult children. Susan also loves cooking and baking.
