Officials with Northlands announced Monday that the head of the organization was stepping down from his position.
Northlands said Richard L. Anderson was stepping down as President and CEO of the organization, in a statement, Northlands Board of Directors Chair Laura Gadowski thanked Anderson.
“As Richard moves into the next phase of his life, we wish him only the best,” Gadowski said. “During his time here, Richard has been an instrumental part of strengthening Northlands. We will capitalize on the momentum as we continue making Northlands the sports and entertainment destination in the region.”
Anderson also issued a statement, saying the decision to leave wasn’t easy, and he was moving on to a new opportunity.
“During my time here and through our team’s collective efforts, I believe we have well-positioned Northlands for the future, and I am confident the leadership team will make this time of transition a seamless one for all parties,” Anderson said.
Until a permanent replacement for Anderson is found, Northlands said the Board of Directors had asked Sharilee Fossum, Northlands Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President of Corporate Services, to act as President and CEO.
Before joining Northlands in August 2010, Anderson was the General Manager of PETCO Park in San Diego, and the Executive Vice President of the San Diego Padres.
