Photos were released on Thursday of two people who police are calling "persons of interest" in a suspicious fire in June.

Two women were found hurt at the scene of the June 12 blaze at a vacant house in McCauley and later died. Police have not described their injuries and say they are still "trying to understand the nature of these deaths."

The males in the photos may have "valuable information" about the fire, Edmonton Police Service (EPS) said in a news release on Thursday.

Anyone who knows the males is asked to call EPS or Crime Stoppers.

Investigators do not believe the fire is connected to either the extortion case nicknamed Project Gaslight or the investigations into arsons in southwest and southeast Edmonton.
