Red Deer RCMP investigating 3 hoax school bomb threats
Three Red Deer schools received hoax bomb threats on Monday, like other schools across the country.
Administration at St. Joseph’s High School, St. Francis of Assisi Middle School and Pines Alternative School all received emailed threats, RCMP confirmed to CTV News Edmonton.
None of the threats were found to be credible after police searched the buildings and surrounding areas.
Their early investigation suggests the emails came from outside of Canada.
Several schools in Calgary, a school in Lethbridge, and two schools in Winnipeg also received threats. Authorities in all cities either determined there was no imminent risk or, after investigating, cleared the schools to open.
