Edmonton Police said charges had been laid against a man in connection to three alleged sexual assaults, and investigators believe there could be more victims out there.

Police said Wednesday that Matthew McKnight, 29, was facing a charge of sexual assault causing bodily harm, two counts of sexual assault, and a charge of unlawful confinement.

The charges stem from three incidents dating back to April 1, April 16 and July 6.

In the first incident, police said it was reported that a 17-year-old girl left a bar located in the area of 107 Street and Jasper Avenue with friends to go to McKnight’s home for an ‘after party’ – it’s alleged she was sexually assaulted.

More than two weeks later, a 22-year-old woman left a bar in the same area, and went to McKnight’s home with friends – it’s alleged she was also sexually assaulted.

In the third incident, a 21-year-old woman left a bar in the area of 106 Street and 82 Avenue, and went to the home of the accused, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted.

Detectives with the EPS Sexual Assault Section started investigating the sexual assaults after receiving reports of the first incident.

Police released a photo of the accused, and asked anyone with information about McKnight, the three reported incidents, or any additional incidents to contact the EPS non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.
