The Edmonton Oilers Entertainment Group announced Wednesday morning that their new Vice-President, General Manager for Rogers Place is Susan Darrington.
Bob Nicholson, CEO of the Oilers Entertainment Group, made the announcement, calling her experience - most recently serving as a General Manager of Allianz Parque with AEG Worldwide in São Paulo, Brazil, the key factor in their world-wide search.
Prior to her time in Brazil, she was part of the team that opened and operated CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
“She comes highly recommended and well-respected in the venue-management industry, with a strong track record of success,” Nicolson said in a news release. “Her experience in Seattle opening and operating CenturyLink Field, and in Brazil opening a first-of-its-kind venue in South America, will lend itself well to Rogers Place.”
Darrington is originally from Edmonton, where OEG said she “began her career” at 15-years-old, as an usher at the Northlands Coliseum.
“We are thrilled that Susan has strong roots in the Edmonton community,” Nicholson said. “Her knowledge of the area and the people will be a major plus moving forward.”
