Police in central Alberta are investigating after three people were killed in a shooting in the Consort area.

RCMP said officers were called to a rural location in the Consort area at about 3:30 a.m. Friday, where two males were found to have been shot.

One of the men was reportedly found dead, the other man was rushed to hospital where he later died.

Later, RCMP said officers were told that before that shooting, a woman had been shot by one of the two men at another rural home in the same area.

RCMP and paramedics were sent to the second home, where the woman was found – RCMP said the 44-year-old woman was found dead inside her home.

Consort RCMP said the deceased men were in their 40s, and all three individuals knew eachother.

Police said officers were not looking for suspects – and both locations had been secured by police.

The RCMP Red Deer Major Crimes Unit is helping in the investigation.
