Police in northern Alberta are investigating after flags were stolen from a pride event in downtown Fort McMurray, and then burned nearby.
RCMP said they received a complaint Monday, surrounding an incident that reportedly took place Saturday.
According to reports, two gay pride flags were stolen from a gay pride event being held at a pub on Hardin Street just after 11 p.m. by a group of people.
Police said the group then lit the flags on fire nearby.
Few details are available, and Wood Buffalo RCMP are investigating – and asking anyone with information that could help in the investigation to call police at 780-788-4000.
