RCMP are asking for the public’s help locating the driver of a white pickup truck that hit an officer in St. Paul Monday.

Officials said police were responding to a call on the Saddle Lake Cree Nation when a white, Chevrolet pickup truck drove by.

Members attempted to speak to the driver but the vehicle sped away, hitting one of the officers with the back end of the truck.

The officer was taken to hospital in St. Paul and later released.

RCMP said they have positively identified the driver but are asking for anyone with information on the driver or the vehicle to contact them, 780-645-8888 or Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477.
