The Medical Examiner has deemed the death of a man, whose body was found in southwest Edmonton Wednesday afternoon, was homicide.
Police said Thursday afternoon that autopsy results confirmed the man was murdered, and the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
The results came after Southwest Divison officers were called to the area of 68 Avenue and 170 Street after 4 p.m. Wednesday, after the body was reported.
It was found in some trees near the synagogue, but not on synagogue property – police said the victim was last seen alive on Monday, June 3, near where the body was found.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene shortly after police arrived.
Police said there’s no evidence that this homicide is connected to any others – but was not a random act.
The name of the deceased is not being released, pending notification of next of kin.
