The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section is investigating the death of a man who was found seriously injured overnight in the city’s downtown.
Police said officers were called to the area of 106 Avenue, just west of 96 Street, at about 12:55 a.m. Thursday – where they found an injured man with obvious signs of trauma.
Officers tried to perform CPR, but the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Reports indicated about six or seven people were seen fleeing the area at the time of the incident.
Police said the Homicide Section is working to identify suspects.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, May 6.
