More than 30 people face charges in two separate organized crime investigations. Edmonton police investigators say Projects Gambit and Griffin also netted more that 800 grams of cocaine, a small amount of ecstasy, $24,000 in cash and led to the seizure of eight vehicles.
"We are making a concerted effort to eliminate the front-line dealers who are conducting their transactions in neighbourhoods across the city," said Organized Crime Branch Inspector Greg Preston. "Several projects like this have occurred in the past and I guarantee more are planned for the future."
In Project Gambit, Matthew William Smulski, 26, Daniel Andres Silva, 22, and Amanda Pope, 21, were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and simple possession.
And in Project Griffin, another 35 people are facing charges for trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime, and other criminal charges.
