An Edmonton teacher faces additional sex-related charges stemming from two incidents that are alleged to have occurred in the summer of 2009.

48-year-old Christopher Herodek was charged earlier this month for allegedly touching two pre-teen girls inappropriately at a recreation facility in December.

Herodek now faces two more counts of sexual assault and sexual interference for allegedly touching two pre-teen girls who swam by the accused at north and west end recreation centre pools in 2009.

Edmonton Public Schools confirmed earlier this month that Herodek previously taught at TD Baker and Grandview Heights Schools.

They would not release the name of the school Herodek was working at when he was first charged but they did say he was suspended as soon as they were notified of the charges.

The EPS Child Protection Section continues to investigate and is encouraging witnesses or other complainants to contact them at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
