The Edmonton Eskimos may have failed to repeat as Grey Cup Champions this season, but a trio of players have left their mark on the 2016 Canadian Football League season.

Three players have earned CFL All-Star Honours. Receivers Adarius Bowman and Derel Walker, and Defensive Tackle Almondo Sewell.

For Bowman, he recorded a team record setting 120 receptions for a league leading 1,759 yards and nine touchdowns in 18 regular season games. He added 7 receptions and 114 yards and two touchdowns in the post season. He was named the CFL Player of the Week for Week 3 and CFL Player of the Month for September. This is the third consecutive CFL All-Star nod for Bowman.

In 18 regular season games, Walker recorded a career-high 109 receptions for 1,589 yards and 10 touchdowns. In the post season he made 9 receptions for 136 yards. This is the second consecutive CFL All-Star nod for Walker.

The receiving duo of Bowman and Walker set two records this season. In Week 18, it was the first time in team history there were two 100+ catch receivers in the same season. In Week 19, the pair made CFL history, breaking the record for most receiving yards by teammates with a combined 3,318 yards.

The third honour went to Sewell, who recorded 38 tackles, the most in in the league at his position. He also tied the league lead for quarterback sacks with 11. Sewell was the Eskimos nominee for Most Outstanding Defensive Player. This is his fourth consecutive CFL All-Star nod.

The Green and Gold finished the 2016 season with a record of 10-8, and finished fourth in the West Division. They earned a crossover berth to the East for the playoffs. They beat the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 24-21 in the Eastern Semi-Final. They lost in the East Final to the Ottawa REDBLACKS 35-23.
