Fire crews put out a fire near at a residence near a church in Beaumont Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire close to the 100-year-old St. Vital Parish on 50 Street at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Witnesses told CTV News the fire broke out at the Priest’s house next to the church, but crews got the blaze under control quickly.

No one was injured, fire officials said, and the extent of the damage is unclear.

Fire officials said they have an idea of how the fire started, but declined to release that information.
