Edmonton Police said the discovery of human remains in central Alberta earlier this week could be connected to a missing person’s case dating back to late March.
An Edmonton Police Service spokesperson told CTV News that human remains had been found by RCMP May 12, 2014.
RCMP said they were found a distance away from where the vehicle owned by Anina Hundsdoerfer was found in late March, on Forestry Trunk Road.
Hundsdoerfer, 32, was reported missing Sunday, March 23 – she was last believed to be at her office near 99 Avenue and 108 Street in Edmonton on Saturday March 22.
Her vehicle was found by search crews March 25.
The spokesperson said it is possible that the discovery of the remains is linked to the missing persons file, but that won’t be confirmed until results from an autopsy come in.
The autopsy is expected later in the week.
