Evacuation orders were issued on Monday night for several communities, including La Crete, the rural area outside of Steep Hill Creek and the Dene Tha’ First Nation’s Bushe River and Beaver First Nation’s Child Lake reserve & Boyer River reserve.
The orders came down around 11 p.m.
Evacuees are required to register at the Fort Vermilion Mckenzie County Office or by calling 780-927-3718.
