After months of gruesome and conflicting testimony, the Thomas Svekla trial is nearing its end.

Both the Crown and defence rested their case Friday.

Svekla's lawyers told a judge they will not present any testimony or evidence in the case.

Svekla is charged with killing prostitutes Theresa Innes, 36, and Rachel Quinney, 19.

Closing arguments have been scheduled for May 22.
