A motorcyclist is in hospital after an early morning collision in southwest Edmonton.
Emergency crews were called to a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck in the area of 61 Avenue and 111 Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Cst. Richard Windover with the Edmonton Police Service's Major Collision Investigation Unit says it is possible the pickup truck ran a red light, but the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
Three people were originally taken to hospital including the driver of the motorcycle, the passenger of the motorcycle, and the driver of the truck.
Windover said the driver from the pickup truck and the passenger of the motorcycle have since been released, while the driver of the motorcycle remains in hospital.
"The driver of the motorcycle is still in hospital in critical but stable condition," Windover said.
No charges have been laid as police continue to investigate.
