The two people killed Friday at a home in Fort Saskatchewan are a 46-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man, say RCMP investigators.
Police have not released the names of the deceased, but family members tell CTV News that Colleen Sillito, a mother of five children, is one of the deceased.
“We seen her a lot in the summer,” said neighbour Darlene Fillier. “She did a lot of gardening and stuff like that. We talked and she always offered us stuff out of the garden.”
“She was a really nice lady,” said Fillier.
Sillito’s family tells CTV News that the man was her ex-fiance, Paul Jacobs.
The pair was found dead outside a home on Alderson Close Friday morning. Police say the children weren’t home at the time of the shooting.
A jeep was towed from the scene Friday afternoon with what looked like a hole in the rear driver-side door and rear window.
Investigators, along with the Medical Examiner’s office, continue to work to determine a cause of death.
No arrests have been made, and police say there is no risk to public safety.
