RCMP are asking the public for help after a dog was taken from a yard north west of Edmonton, and a strange note was left behind for the dog's owners.
Police say a Husky-Collie cross had been tied up on a leash in a yard near Onoway, Alta.
When the owner returned home, the dog was missing and a note was left, which read 'Smile... you are being watched because you have to be careful. Big Brother is on to you!"
RCMP say there has been anecdotal reports suggesting other dogs have also been taken over the past several months in the Lac Ste Anne and Spring Lake areas, though police reports were not formally made.
Police ask anyone with information about this dog theft to contact 780-968-7267 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
