Police south of Edmonton are investigating, after a man was stabbed Tuesday evening at a McDonald’s.

Wetaskiwin RCMP said officers were called to the fast food restaurant Tuesday at about 7 p.m., on reports of a stabbing.

A 33-year-old man was taken to the Wetaskiwin Hospital for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police have identified a suspect, who was apprehended with help from the public – the individual’s identity will not be released until he has been charged.

Investigators said an autopsy was conducted Wednesday morning – the victim’s identity is not being released pending his identification and notification of next of kin.
