Hours after police issued a warning to residents of an east Spruce Grove neighbourhood – RCMP said the incident had resolved and there were no longer any concerns for public safety.
The news came after Spruce Grove RCMP issued a warning to residents in the Garneau Gate area to stay in their basements – the warning continued until nearly 7 p.m.
At the time, police said officers were on the scene investigating reports of shots being fired in the area.
Police activity in the area left several roads closed, and affected school buses that would have stopped in the area.
RCMP said officers would remain on the scene for several hours after the warning was lifted.
