City police have charged a teen with second-degree murder.
The suspect was arrested last Thursday while officers were executing a search warrant at a residence in the area of 94 Street and 138 Avenue.
The 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was also charged with the possession of an offensive weapon.
18-year-old Mohamed Jama Salad of Edmonton died from multiple stab wounds on March 10 while on the way to hospital. A crime scene was located in an alley in the area of 94 Street and 138 Avenue.
