Edmonton police issued an Amber Alert Friday, after a man reportedly abducted three children.
EPS said three boys were abducted from a north Edmonton home at about 9:45 a.m. Friday.
The initial alert came out at 12:24 p.m. Friday - it was lifted just after 5 p.m.
Police released descriptions of the children, and the vehicle the suspect was believed to be driving, and said the vehicle was headed westbound from Edmonton.
EPS said a male suspect had been taken into custody, and the children were safe and unharmed.
An officer told CTV News an area around Niton Junction was closed for several hours because of the alert.
Officers were called after a citizen saw the vehicle described in the alert, a red minivan, on the property, and officers saw the vehicle in front of a barn.
At about 3 p.m., officers surrounded the barn believing the suspect, a woman and the three children were inside. The suspect was taken into custody without incident two hours later.
RCMP said no weapons were found at the scene, and an ambulance was on the scene as a precaution, but was not used.
At last word, the suspect was at the Evansburg RCMP detachment, and the woman and three children were returned to Edmonton.
